Spa Blower

The Spa Blower is sold on just about every swimming pool spa system in the USA. These add air to the spa that help with the circulation pump motor that gives the water more movement. These used to be very loud and annoying from the 1960’s until about ten years ago when they finally started making them with sound-proofing materials. Now they are relatively quiet and really need to be because they used to be 4-5 louder than an air conditioning unit. This not only bothered the owner of the swimming pool/spa, but the neighbors around them. The blower has to be mounted on a 2″ PVC pipe as shown in the photo. That PVC pipe leads to other smaller piping that surround the spa that help send air up through the system. The problem with most blowers is aesthetically it is not nice to look at. The blower has to be well above the level of the spa water (which tends to be high above the pool equipment) because the PVC pipe is full of water and you don’t want that getting into the blower. Plus, to feed it with an electrical supply, the only real way to do it is to wrap the PVC with the flexible conduit like shown in the photo.
