#8 Bare Solid Copper Pool/Spa Bonding Cable is required for all swimming pools, with or without spas, in the USA. This is used for bonding the entire steel of the pool that is installed before the gunite (concrete) and steel in the decks before concrete. This bonds the entire metal grid to the grounding of the swimming pool and helps protect swimmers from short circuits either on the premises of where the pool/spa is installed or from other short circuits including power company underground or overhead malfunctions. The bonding detects any malfunction and promptly trips the light and pool apparatus GFCI Breakers.
