Heat Pumps and Water Chiller Systems

These two items have become quite common in the swimming pool industry over the past two decades.
Both are electrically controlled and saves the customer quite bit of money when installing since there are no expensive gas lines to install that require an inspection by the city inspector.  The Heat Pump System keeps the pool as warm as you want in the winter, while completely heating up the spa year round, and well past the temperature you require. The Chiller System is a unique electrical item that keeps your pool water cooler during the extreme hot summer days.  Keep in mind why!  In the summer of 2022, the DFW Metroplex moved into the #6 all time record books for 100+ degree day heat with 47 days.  The number one spot in the record books was recent in the year 2011 with 71 days of 100+ degree temperatures.  During those days, the pool is often not used because it is like taking a slightly warm bath.  The Chiller System brings that temperature down to the normal level so one can enjoy cool water on 100+ degree days.  Having a Chiller System is becoming more andmore common on swimming pool/spa installations, whether new, remodels or add-ons at a later date.  In the photo, the large electrical apparatus to the left is the Heat Pump System and the one at the rear of the photo and installed higher is the Chiller System.  Like all outdoor pool equipment, they are built to withstand the elements and the temperatures and even in direct sunlight like most installations such as this one.
