Many future pool owners do not think about the rules concerning the existing power from the power pole to their home. This cable has some limitations when installing a pool under or near it. Above is a photo of the rules for how many feet the cable must be away from the pool water, the diving board and anything else associated with the swimming pool. Often times the power must be changed from overhead to underground and well out of the way of the sides of the swimming pool by no less than 5 ft if underground. In most cases, the conduit for this underground installation must be at least 2 inch size and 24 inches deep. In some cities are states, it is 36 inches to 48 inches, depending on location.
