Required Emergency Disconnect Switch At Pool Equipment

January 12, 2024

The Emergency Disconnect Panel located directly at the equipment area, within 50 feet of the equipment AND in plain sight, is required in some municipalities whether residential or commercial.  The idea is for the homeowner to know quickly where to turn off pool equipment in the event of an emergency.  Most pool equipment breakers go in the main breaker panel of the home and that is sometimes in a closet, but most of the time inside or directly outside of the garage.   The Emergency Disconnect Panel located at the equipment is a great way to isolate breakers from the main panel, and address issues promptly when needed.
