CLEARANCE! I have talked about this in previous posts. Work space directly in front of an electrical control panel requires 36 inches of clearance so the technician is not having to lay on top of something or fight their way into the wiring area to reach the wiring. This particular job was performed by us and passed the electrical inspection in 2020. We were called back to the home recently to diagnose a pool pump relay in the tan colored, rear electrical control box, only to find that a heat pump had been installed above the equipment and directly in front of the box that holds the relays. The door wont even open to this control box because the heat pump is installed about 3 inches away. This was clearly installed AFTER the pool/spa had its final inspections from the city because this would have never passed an inspection anywhere in the USA. The heat pump had to be removed just so we could repair the relay to the filter pump. The things we see in this business is astounding.
